So instead of the cruise we went to Catalina Island this past weekend for four days. Just Henry, my parents and me. It was perfect. It was a much needed trip and getaway that we all needed. Her is how our trip went:
Friday: We spent Friday checking into our hotel and just exploring what the Island had to offer. The weather was perfect with crisp air and the smell of sea salt. We had dinner looked at a few shops and then called it an early night.

Saturday: We had planned Saturday as a relaxing day. We rented a golf cart (cars are not allowed on the island and EVERYONE owns about 2 golf carts, they even pimp them out!) and went to the Botanical garden and the Wrigley memorial. Yes Wrigley like the gum, he was a huge fan of the island and spent a lot of money to help preserve the island. Sat. night we went and saw Robbin Hood and also booked our excursions. Also spent time at the beach just laying around and reading our books drinking some yummy wine!

"pimped" our golf carts..this one even had a system!!

Wrigley Memorial
Sunday: Went to breakfast and relaxed. That afternoon we had our exursions. Henry and my dad did a skyline tour in this off road open air jeep thing. They said it was fun and that they learned a lot about the island and history of the people. Mom and I decided to do something more crazy and we went ZIP LINING!!! My mom is scared of heights but she did such an amazing job. I was so nervous that I almost threw up and chickened out. Jumping 600ft off a cliff doesn't seem like a smart thing to do with nothing but a wire holding you. But it was a rush and great experience and I am so glad that my mom and I got to do it together!!!

just after getting all geared up!

After our first jump!!!

One of the lines. There were 5 total and it was so much fun!
All in all it was a great trip and time well spent! Everyone needed the break and we all enjoyed our time together. Oh and on a side note. My mom takes Patron shots like a champ!!

Can't wait to do it all again sometime!!
