Easter!

So Sunday was Easter. A holiday that Henry and I have always enjoyed but have never really had the opportunity to go down south to spend with our families except for one year!! This year I knew I had to work so we tried to plan our schedules accordingly. I decided on my menu about 2 to 3 weeks prior. I was excited to cook a big meal even if it was just for me and my love.

So I decided to make a roast with scalloped potatoes, cheddar bay biscuits, asparagus and a really good salad. Plans changed when Don and Kim decided to invite us over which was super nice of them!!

Henry and I went to church service on Saturday night because I knew I had to work Sunday morning. West Gate used to be my home church. The church I went to every Sunday (when I was in school and working part time) but over the past few years graduating from college and becoming a restaurant manager my Sundays are filled with eggs, bacon french toast and some prayer time on my drive to work.

It was really good to be back in a church that I was involved in and see old friends. I even ran into my old roommate Shawna! We met freshman year at SJSU in the dorms and were roommates. Then we moved out and live together for another 2 years (almost). It was really good to see her and see that she was doing well in life.

Service was really nice and we enjoyed it. Henry and I both walked away feeling good and glad that we went. The rest of Saturday night was spent grocery shopping for the week ahead.

The Love went to Sunday easter service at Bethel with Don and Kim and a few other friends. He enjoyed it and I was glad he got to go and spend time with friends and at church.

When I got off work later around 3:40 we went to Don and Kim's for Easter dinner. Kim did such an amazing job with the place setting and the food was great! We really enjoyed good time with good friends.

On the way home the Love and I talked about how blessed we are to have friends that we seriously consider family. Friends that let us intrude on holidays because we have no family close by. Friends that let us crash on their sofas because we have a long drive home. Friends that call or text just to say they love us and hope we are doing well. It is nice. We are so luck to have friends that we can call our Bay area FAMILY!!
