I will always be a so. Cal girl. The husband and I went down there two weeks ago as a sort of "vacation". Henry ended up going fishing with my dad and my mom and I had a girls night. It was so much fun. We drove down on Thursday and surprisingly we made really good time! Thursday night my mom had made a taco bar (one of my fav. things) for the family so we could all eat together before everyone did their own things for the weekend. My brother and his girlfriend were also there and it was nice to catch up with them.
My brother and I always had the sibling rivalry thing going on when we were younger but once I was about a junior in high school we became super close and have been ever since then.
Friday was probably the most relaxing day out of all of them. We did nothing at all Henry and I sat in the back yard and read books for hours! It was just too perfect, quiet and relaxing.
Saturday my mom and I got up and made breakfast together and then headed over to my aunt Sandra's house. She had been in and out of the hospital for some problems and was on bed rest before her surgery on Monday so it was nice to hang with her and talk and catch up. She has such a good heart and I enjoy spending time with her when I can. After leaving Auntie San house we went on to visit my other Aunt (my grandmothers sister) Aunt Yvonne. She was in a elderly hospital recovering from two broken legs. I hadn't seen her in a few years and I almost didn't recognize her because she literally was withering away before my eyes. She looked so tiny in the hospital bed. The sheets looked like they were swallowing her. I could tell she was tired even though she was as feisty as ever. We sat and talked and she cried because she was so happy to see me! It was a nice moment but a little over whelming to say the lease.
After we left from visiting Aunt Yvonne my mom and I went to have dinner and drinks! We had such a good time talking and laughing. We went to Elephant bar (one of my moms fav. chain restaurants) and talked the night away. Our food was good and the drinks were even better. It was quality mother daughter time and much needed. After dinner we headed home where we watched a movie and both of us falling asleep on the sofas! It was an end to a good day <3
Sunday we kind of just hung out and did some things around the house. Sunday night was spent at Bobby and Ally's place in Orange County for a BBQ. Henry and I picked up Vanessa and made the drive down. It was good meeting up with V and her baby bump!!! I still can't believe shes having a baby but we are super excited for her and Anthony! We are even more excited because they are having a boy and really couldn't see them with anything else but a boy so that was exciting to know that Ryan Easton will be here before we know it! Sundays BBQ and drinking lasted till about 2 in the morning and then I called it quits and went back home since all the partying had moved back to Rancho to V and Anthony's house.
We drove back Monday night after spending the whole day at the hospital for Auntie San's surgery. All in all the trip was fun and much needed. We always love going down there to see our friends and family but we also love coming back home to San Jose :)
