What can I do for you?

Love Dare - Day 4

Contact your spouse sometime during the business of the day. Have no agenda other than asking how he or she is doing and if there is anything you could do for them. Romans 12:10

Because it was a weekend and the hubby was off while I was working it was kind of hard to do this Dare exactly how I thought or wanted it to go. We spent most of the morning together enjoying each others company and just relaxing before I had to scum to the beckon calls of work.

A part of me just feels like life gets in the way and has much and as hard as we are trying to do this. It ends up getting pushed aside by the end of the day in order to prepare for the next day and whatever else is going on.

So anyway we ended up just talking and laying on the sofa before I had to go to work. While we were at relaxing I accidentally interrupted my husband (something that annoys him more than anything in the world and something that I have no clue that I do until someone points it out to me :(... ) and the first thing he did instead of yelling or getting upset (which he actually doesn't yell often) was say. Remember the love dare for today. So then I said what is it that I can do for you. He smiled and looked at me and said I would appreciate it if you would just listen to what I need to say without speaking and then when I am done you can say whatever you want. As hard as that actually is for me on most days. I loved that he asked me in a polite and loving manner.

That little situation actually made it easier for me to realize that sometimes I do just need to sit and ask him what would he like me to do for him in order to make his life better. God is Good!
